8 Essential FoodSaver® Bag Tips

  1. Wait at least 20 seconds in between seals to allow the sealing strip to cool down. Otherwise a bag may melt.
  2. Any little pinhole will break the vacuum seal defeating the purpose of using your FoodSaver®. Handle and store sealed foods with care.
  3. FoodSaver® bags are great to reheat vacuum sealed leftovers in a microwave however make sure you cut a small hole in the bag to allow steam to escape.
  4. Did you know that your bags are reusable? Take out the portion size you need, cut away the orginal seal on the open side and reseal. You can also wash and reuse bags that did not contain raw meats, dairy oily foods.
  5. Seal you bags with the roll curl and rough embossed side down.
  6. Only vacuum sealed bags containing frozen foods should be placed in simmering water.
  7. FoodSaver® bags are BPA free!
