Tips for Vacuum Sealing Meats and Other High Moisture Content Foods

by Editor on June 16, 2013

This is just a short post to address a problem people often have with vacuum sealing particularly juicy, or marinated, meats and fish.  That is the juices getting sucked up into the vacuum sealer and at best making for a bit of a mess to clean up.  One simple solution, as shown in this video, is to simply place a folded up paper towel along the vacuum sealer side of the bag, to block and absorb juices as they move towards the machine.

The video features a Weston vacuum sealer (which we review here) but the technique works for all FoodSavers as well.
